What does storage insurance cover?

Storage insurance policies provides cover for loss or damage from the following perils to your storage contents:

  • 1. Fire, lightning, explosion, or earthquake
  • 2. Aircraft and other flying devices, or items dropped from them
  • 3. Storm, flood, or weight of snow
  • 4. Escape of water or other liquids from fixed water tanks, apparatus, or pipes (Containers Not included)
  • 5. Theft or attempted theft where entry or exit was by forcible and violent means
  • 6. Collision by any aircraft, vehicle, or animal
  • 7. Any person taking part in a riot, violent disorder, strike, labour disturbance, civil commotion, or acting maliciously
  • 8. Falling trees, telegraph poles or lamp posts
  • 9. Moths, insects or vermin from a source outside of the premises
  • 10. Subsidence, collapse or partial collapse of the storage facilities building
  • 11. Smoke
